Careers That Make the Most Money: There’s no shame in choosing a job that provides you with the most income. After all, your money can help provide for your needs, as well for the needs of your loved ones. The smarter and more talented you are, and the harder you work, the more likely it is that you can succeed in the most lucrative of professions. But first, you’ll need to know the careers that make the most money.

So here are your most likely candidates:

  1. Medical doctors and surgeons. Anesthesiologists top this category with an annual mean wage of about $235,000. Surgeons come in second at $231,500. The lowest paid group of doctors is pediatricians, and they still get an annual mean wage of almost $169,000.

  2. Orthodontists and dentists. While dental work may not be as glamorous as becoming a doctor or a surgeon, orthodontists still command a healthy wage. They earn an annual mega wage of about $205,000. Dentists, in general, earn about $162,000.

  3. CEOs. In any business organization, the chief executive officer is the one who calls the shots and gets paid the most. The annual mean wage of CEOs is at about $177,000. CEOs in the film industry get the most, with an annual mean swage of almost $235,000.

  4. Petroleum engineers. These are the people who are responsible from taking the gas and oil from the Earth to your car. Their annual mean wage is at $139,000. You’ll find a lot of these people in Texas, where the best-paid congregate.

  5. Lawyers. Most people think lawyers are all rich, and for the most part that’s true. While government lawyers and prosecutors don’t really earn all that much, those in the private sector make a lot more. The annual mean wage for lawyers is more than $130,000.

  6. Engineering and architectural managers. These professionals earn an annual mean wage of nearly $129.5K. What you earn will depend a lot on the industry you are involved in. The ones who get paid the most are those who are either involved in transporting crude oil through a network of pipes or in extracting oil and gas from the Earth.

  7. Natural sciences manager. While you may be trained as a scientist, in this job you are required to supervise scientists. The annual mean wage is more than $128,000. Most managers in the public sector earn less than this, but those in the private sector earn a lot—especially in the aerospace and insurance industry.

  8. Marketing manager. The annual mean wage for marketing managers is more than $126,000. Their job is to spread their company’s message to the consumer public.

  9. IT managers. All business use computers these days, and IT managers lead IT specialists in taking care of them. Their annual mean wage is more than $125,000.

  10. Industrialorganizational psychologists. Their annual mean wage is at more than $124,000, and their job is to work with the human resources department to help choose and train employees.

If you are looking for the careers that make the most money, then becoming a doctor is the obvious choice. In the top 10 list of high paying jobs, doctors occupy the top 8 spots along with the 10th spot. CEOs are the only non-medical job in the list.
